In honor of mothers

http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6041:taught-by-their-mothers&catid=3804 I found this song about mothers. I thought everyone would enjoy it. Maybe some of the grandchildren can learn it and sing it to their moms for mother's day. Thanks to all my wonderful aunts, my amazing grandmother and of course my mom for being the most special women in my life.

Red Rock Canyon

We went to Red Rock Canyon National Park today for a fun family hike. There was a "waterfall" at the end of the hike. The only problem was that it was more of a "sprinklefall." Macy did really well, I only had to carry her about 1/4 of the time on my shoulders. Here is a preview, to see the rest go to our picasa web album.

Macy Excited for Summer

Today was a great day mostly because Macy was actually being good today :) I think she senses that there will be yet another change coming in her life shortly. Luckily, she is so excited to see her cousins she can hardly stand it. So today for an art project we made a countdown chain to when she gets to play with Evan and Ryan. She also made a poster of fun activities she would like to do with them. Hope everyone is doing well.
Oh. P.S. Charlie has his first interview today for a hospital in Henderson. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Kids Say the darndest things

So Macy has been especially hilarious lately. I thought I would share some of her funny phrases. Today she woke up with a stuffy nose and announced in a panicked voice, 'My nose isn't working!" As most of you know Macy is the mommy of two adorable children Katie Bow Bow and Harriet. Unfortunately she is having behavior problems because lately Katie Bow Bow is constantly in time out for hitting Ryan and Evan and pulling their hair. Today during our painting art project she kept saying things like, "Holy Cow this is cool!" Grandma Betty gave Macy a pat on the bottom and Macy turned around and said (much to my embarassment), " Grandma, you stinker pot you can't spank me." Also she is already trying to justify her actions by what her friends are doing. She was talking in a mean voice and I told her I didn't like it. She told me, "Mom but by friends at nursery do it!" Katie Bow Bow and Harriet have also become many people during our stay in Henderson. At first they were mostly Evan and Ryan. Now they are the Princess and the King and we have to rescue them from the swamp monsters. Sorry Oliver and Megan for forgetting your Princess and the Frog DVD we might have to buy you a new copy since this movie has now been labled "My princess movie" She loves watching the movie and especially loves singing the Going down the Bayou song. There is a sad part in the movie when Ray dies. I was very solemn at this part and I said something like oh that is sad Ray is dying and Macy said very excitedly, "Ya he dies and turns into a star!" She is also getting a kick out of giving me or Charlie or her dolls a kiss and then laughing at us and telling us that we have now turned into a frog. She definately keeps us smiling. I never know what is going to come out next.

Busy Tampa Hansens

Well Jimmy and I (Ari) have been up to a lot in the last few months. First I was offered a paid residency at the new Tampa VA annex. Here is the picture Jimmy took after my interview...Then I passed the Praxis so I really can take that job lol! yeah almost a certified Audiologist! Jimmy not to be trumped by anyone then was admitted to the business accounting masters program at USF! Of course he couldn't stop there he interviewed with Ernst Young for an internship... they didn't offer him the internship... THEY OFFERED HIM A FULL TIME JOB!!! It is waiting for him as soon as he finishes a few extra semesters to get his masters. It will be in downtown Tampa in one of the biggest buildings! Jimmy also was awarded a position in USF's first 25 under 25 competition and we will be going to Busch Gardens for a meet and greet. I made Easter baskets for my niece and nephews and little brother. I really love Easter and hope to see them open them one some year soon. The last 2 weeks have been crazy busy for me again. I drove to Orlando to be Yalily's guide at her endowment. Then Drove to Ocala to help my friend Tabatha set up for her wedding and be in it for 2 days. Their get away car was so cool! Then home for work and mad school work until Friday morning again when I defended my thesis. It was really stressful but it went great! Then back to Orlando the same day to set up for Yalily's wedding. I had a project for my genetics class that lead me to be curious about my real father's family and I found my cousin Anja on facebook! I am now connected with some of the Grants and might get to do some temple work (they have a tree I might be able to get them to send me).

Gilbert and I toured the Mormon Trail Center and found the midwife's pocket handbook of our ancestor Patty Bartlett Sessions. Across the street from this incredible museum is the beautiful Winter's Quarter's Temple. It has wonderful stained glass windows.

Easter in Vegas

Easter--thanks to Jimmy & Ari!

Proof of the excitement given to the boys while they opened their Easter baskets. Thank you for sending such fun gifts to them Jimmy & Ari! We told him to close his eyes...he tried really hard.
First view of the beauty of the basket.
Most of the shots of Evan were not exciting, but this one you can actually see his smile as he starts to pull things out of the basket.
Ryan has claimed the rights to both little trucks. He's a truck man.
Peep!(first experience with one-can you tell?)

Let it be known

Let it be known that this morning I beat Chris' score on the penguin game!
